A Promise Is A Promise


Three friends met at one of their regular hangouts and confided to each other that due to the recent financial down turn, they had each lost a lot of money in their businesses. Just then, another of their friend who was a very rich man, walked in.

The rich man told the three that he had just been to the doctor and was told that he had only a short time to live due to a serious illness. After expressing sadness to this rich friend about his health condition, one of the three decided to ask the rich friend for financial help.

The rich man, out of his kind heart agreed to lend each of them $100,000 which will be more than enough to tide them through their difficulties. The only condition he made was that the money had to be returned to him, latest by the day of his funeral. If that happens, they were to throw the money into his coffin during the wake, when he died. They agreed.

A few months later, the rich man passed away and was to be buried within the week. At the wake, the three men were chatting and the first was suddenly overcame with guilt. He confessed to the other two that he had thrown only half of the money into the coffin, as he was still not doing well in his business. The second man thought for a while and told the other two men that he had also done likewise, his situation was very similar to the first man.

The third man then said angrily to the other two, "Shame on you, the both of you !!! Do you know that even though I am not doing well in recovering my business and in fact, I had suffer further losses since we last met; yet I had kept my promise to our dearest departed friend !!

I had thrown in a CHEQUE, not only for the full amount but with interest!”

Be A Deaf Frog


Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs .... who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.


A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....

The race began....

Honestly:
No one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.

You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top."
or:
"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....

Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...

The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....
But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....
This one wouldn't give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?

It turned out....

That the winner was DEAF!!!!


The wisdom of this story is:
Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic.... because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!


Always think of the power that words have because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore:

ALWAYS be.... POSITIVE!

And above all:

Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Very Sophisticated Way Of Cheat


Normally, I would prefer to post interesting, fun or funny articles from my inbox but it strikes me that there are also some things that can be serious and important which are worth sharing in my posts.

I received the following message forwarded from a colleague of mine. Although I have no way to trace it to the root sender, reading it, I can imagine that this kind of cheats may really be happening. I hope this may help you, or perhaps if you share this story with your friends or loved ones, it may just help prevent someone from falling into such a trap. ~ JT

SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF.

Hi everyone,

I want to let you all know that Frank and I have been the victims of credit card fraud this week and felt I should warn you all about the clever scam.

It works like this:

Last Wednesday I had a phone call late morning from Express Couriers to ask if I was going to be home as he had a delivery for me. He said he would there in roughly an hour. He turned up with a beautiful basket of flowers and wine. I expressed my surprise as I wasn't expecting anything like this and said I was intrigued to know who was sending me such a lovely gift. He said he was only delivering the gift and the card was being sent separately (the card has never arrived). There was a consignment note with the gift. He went on to explain that because the gift contained alcohol he has to charge the recipient $3.50 as proof that he has actually delivered to an adult, and not left it on a door step if the recipient is out, to be stolen or taken by children. This seemed logical and I offered to get the cash. He then said that the company required the payment to be by Eftpos so he's not handling cash and everything is properly accounted for.

Frank was there and got his credit card and 'John' swiped the card on this small mobile machine that also had a small screen upon which Frank entered in his pin number. A receipt was printed out and given to us.

Between last Thursday and Monday $4,000 was withdrawn from our credit account at ATM machines in the north shore area. It appears a dummy credit card was made using the details in the machine and of course, they had Frank's pin number. The Bank has stopped our cards and I've been to the Police this morning, where they confirmed that it is a definite scam and many households were hit during the first 3 days of October.

So PLEASE be wary of accepting a gift you're not expecting especially if the card is not with it. We've all received gifts like this and would never dream that it could be such a despicable act. Please also let Other female friends and relatives know. Hopefully, these fraudsters have
ceased this activity by now but you never know.

Who is rich and who is poor ...


One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the expressed purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Mexican Tattoo

You really have to try this, it is so much fun !!

No, I am not talking about getting yourself tattooed. It is this fun little .... ??? .... game?? ... trick?? ..... dunno what you would call it ??? ..... that one of my friends sent me and asked me to try. When I did, I was really puzzled how they could have done it. After playing it a few more times and studying it for quite a bit, I came to the conclusion that it must be some kind of special effects or something like that. Even then, exactly how they manage to get it so well done really baffles me. See it for yourself :)

Don't Quit, Keep playing !!


Devon - The Concert ...

When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing. Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child, and he added a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed what could have been a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized that they couldn't recall what else the great master played. Only the classic, " Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

Perhaps that's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't always graceful flowing music. However, with the hand of the Master, our life's work can truly be beautiful.

The next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You may hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit." "Keep playing."

May you feel His arms around you and know that His hands are there, helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces. Remember, God doesn't seem to call the equipped, rather, He equips the 'called.' Life is more accurately measured by the lives you touch than by the things you acquire.

Your Choice, Red Or Blue Sunglasses ?

Good and bad things happens all the time. Why do we sometime feel like everything is getting in our way (when we are feeling unhappy) and why do we feel like everything is beautiful and acceptable (when we are feeling happy) ?

When we are feeling unhappy, we interpret and see things through an unhappy filter. Just like wearing a red colored sunglasses (the interpretation), everything you see will be red, whether the good or bad things. Just like wearing a blue colored sunglasses (the interpretation), everything you see will be blue, not only the good. Even the bad things seems easily tolerable.

Knowing this, let us choose to wear a blue cool Sunglasses. Let us choose to see things through happy eyes, through happy minds. Let us do this by interpreting the things that happen around us with a positive, forward looking, creative, loving, understanding & hopeful perspective.

Can You Sleep When The Wind Blows ?
Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.
He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were
reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic . They dreaded the
awful storms that raged across the Atlantic ,
wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.
As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received
a steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short thin man, well past middle age, approached
the farmer.
"Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him.
"Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.
Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help,
hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from
dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.
Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore.
Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed
next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the
little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming!
Tie things down before they blow away!"
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No
sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on
the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.
To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had
been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens
were in the coops, and the doors were barred.
The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.

Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his
hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep
while the wind blew.

The Moral Of The Story

When you're prepared,
spiritually, mentally, and physically,
you have nothing to fear.

Can you sleep when the
wind blows through your life?
The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he
had secured the farm against the storm.
We secure ourselves against the storms of life by
grounding ourselves in the Word of God.
We don't need to understand, we just need to hold
His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.

Amazing Fido "online telepathy" puzzle

Someone sent me a link to an "online telepathy" puzzle, I find it very interesting. Give it a try yourself to see if you agree and then try to figure out how it was done.

First, click on the link below. It should open up a new window to the puzzle website. Click on the boy in the lower right corner of the picture to start the puzzle. Simply follow the instruction on screen.

When you have reach the final window, type in your answer in the white box using the keyboard and then watch what happen to the paper in the boy's hand. You will be amazed.

To find out the answer, read on ....



The Answer ...

After you have decided on the 3 or 4 digits, jumble them up, the answer you get, be it 3 digits or 4 digits answer, will always adds up to 18.

Example, if after the subtraction, you get 3672 ... 3+6+7+2 = 18.

Let take a couple of random examples:

Example 1.
You chose 5476 .... jumble it up to become 6457
Bigger number subtract smaller number .... 6457 - 5476
That will give you 981
9+8+1 = 18

Example 2.
You chose 9876 .... jumble it up to become 8967
Bigger number subtract smaller number .... 9876 - 8967
That will give you 909
9+0+9 = 18

Now, with the remaining 3 digits that you type into the box after you have circled one of them, all we have to do is use 18 to subtract them one by one.

In the case of the first example 3672, if you had choosen 7, then 18-3-6-2 will give you the answer 7, which is the one you had circled.

Important: The initial instruction to chose the 3 or 4 digits have to be a set of random numbers all different from each other.

It Is Not What You Say, But How You Say It ...


A king once dreamed that all his teeth had fallen out. He was naturally concerned about his dream, so the next morning he sent for a soothsayer to interpret his dream for him.

The soothsayer listened to the king's dream, pondered over it for a moment, and then delivered this pronouncement: "Your Highness, the dream means that all your relatives will die and you will be left alone."
